How Push Notifications Work in the Elevate App
Push notifications help you stay up to date with your bookings, contracts, and job opportunities.
These alerts appear directly on your phone to notify you about upcoming shifts, changes, or new work available near you.To receive these alerts, you must have:
- Push notifications enabled on your device and in the Elevate app
- Communication preferences updated for gap alerts (if you want job notifications)

1. Turning On Push Notifications
Step 1 — Accept Notifications in the App
When you first open the Elevate app, you’ll be asked to allow notifications.
Select “Allow” to make sure you receive push alerts.If you previously turned them off, you’ll need to re-enable them in your mobile device settings (under your phone’s Notifications menu).
If notifications are disabled here, you will not receive any alerts.
Step 2 — Manage Your Communication Preferences
Within the Elevate app, go to:
Menu → Communication Preferences
From here, you can manage which notifications you receive for:
Gap Alerts (advertised shifts and job opportunities)Recommended Jobs Ensure Gap Alerts are selected for push notifications if you want to be notified of new jobs within your chosen radius and timeframe.
Tap Save after updating your preferences.
2. Types of Push Notifications You’ll Receive
Job Opportunities (Gaps & Advertised Shifts)
- Sent once daily at 6 PM to prevent too many alerts
- Shows a list of jobs that match your settings
- Tapping the notification opens your Job Board
Booking Notifications
Provisional Bookings
If you’ve been provisionally booked and haven’t confirmed or declined after 24 hours,
you’ll receive a 9 AM reminder.
Booking Changes
Sent instantly if your booking is updated (e.g., time, location, or confirmation required).
Pre-Job Notifications
Briefing Reminder
- Sent once, 24 hours before your first shift (at 9 AM).
- Only sent if a job briefing is attached.
On-the-Day Notifications
Check-In Reminders
- Sent 30 minutes before your shift.
- Sent again at shift start if you haven’t checked in.
Check-Out Reminders
- Sent at shift end if you haven’t checked out.
- If a post-shift survey is required, you’ll receive a reminder within the same notification.
- If Elevate checks you out manually, a follow-up will be sent if your survey is still pending.
Expense Notifications
- Submission Reminder: Sent at 9 AM, 24 hours after your shift, if no expense has been submitted.
- Rejection Notification: Sent instantly if an expense is rejected.
Contract Notifications
- If you’ve been issued a contract but haven’t signed it, a reminder is sent 24 hours later (at 9 AM).
Invoice Notifications
- Rejection Notification: Sent instantly if your invoice is rejected.
3. Notification Preferences & Opt-Out Options
Essential Notifications (Cannot Be Turned Off)
These are required for working with Elevate and include:
- Booking confirmations and changes
- Briefings
- Check-ins and check-outs
- Expenses and invoices
- Contract reminders
Optional Notifications (Can Be Turned Off)
You can choose to opt out of these in your Communication Preferences:
- Job advertisements
- Gap alerts (notifications about last-minute open shifts)
4. Staying Logged In
Push notifications only work if you are logged in to the Elevate app.
If you’re logged out, tapping a notification will prompt you to sign in before viewing the content.
Once logged back in, visit your Job Board or Bookings page to continue.
Keep Notifications On
Keeping notifications turned on ensures you never miss:
- New job opportunities
- Shift reminders
- Contract or expense updates
